ABOUT DESITIN

Desitin Pharma’s parent company is  Desitin Arzneimittel GmbH, which is an independent, medium-sized, specialist pharmaceutical company with approximately 320 employees, most of which are based at the Hamburg head office. Desitin has its own sales force in a  number of countries, mainly in the UK, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe, Austria and Switzerland. Outside these countries we work with licensees and partners distribute our products.

Desitin Arzneimittel was founded in Berlin in 1919. Desitin® Ointment was the first product we brought to market, which is still in use today for dry skin and nappy rash.

In 1945, Desitin relocated to Hamburg. Since then we have focussed on the development and bringing to market of central nervous system medicines. In particular, we specialise in the treatment of epilepsy and Parkinson’s Disease. We have also focussed on the development of innovative patient-centric formulations, such as mini-tablets and oral liquids, which can support patients who are children, or those who struggle to swallow large tablets or capsules.

We are financially independent and as a fully-fledged pharmaceutical company, we produce the majority of our medication in-house, as well as working closely with trusted partners to manufacture the rest of our products.

Supply Chain & Production

Pharmaceuticals are developed, manufactured, procured, and tested at Desitin’s Hamburg site in our modern manufacturing facility, or at our trusted partner’s facilities and then shipped to our customers worldwide.
